Language Funnies
We continue to work on memorizing key verses in the local language. This week we are working on John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. It was Julie's turn to read the verse, and she mispronounced one vowel. The boys tried hard to suppress their laughter, but couldn't control themselves. What Julie was actually saying was, "In the beginning was the cabbage. . ."

She was a good sport about it and was able to laugh also. I was proud of her.
What a crack up! Hard to believe one vowel would make such a big difference!

I try to remind myself that English can be just as bad for non-native speakers. . .especially reading when the letters make different sounds in different words.
